Free to Enter, Multiple Submissions Welcome
Entering the competition is free, and contractors may submit multiple projects as long as they meet the criteria. Each submission must demonstrate technical skill, innovative solutions, and aesthetic excellence. Previous winners have included everything from complex commercial installations to customized residential projects, proving that every project—big or small—has the potential to make an impact.
Judging Framework
A distinguished panel of roofing industry experts will evaluate submissions based on four key criteria: “Why Asphalt,” “Project Challenges,” “Distinction,” and “Beauty.”
Projects stand out when entrants provide detailed narratives, vivid images, and clear explanations of overcoming challenges. ARMA encourages contractors to take their time crafting strong entries that tell the full story of their project’s success.
Best-in-Class Categories
In addition to the primary medal winners—Gold, Silver, and Bronze—the judges may also propose specific projects for Best-in-Class Categories, recognizing unique accomplishments that showcase the diversity and excellence of asphalt roofing.
These awards spotlight outstanding achievements in the following categories:
- In the Neighborhood – Transforming homes through innovative use of color and design.
- Commercial/Mixed Use – Overcoming the complexities involved in flat roof projects.
- Craftsmanship – Highlighting intricate designs and masterful roofing skills.
- Technical Difficulty – Addressing operational and installation challenges with innovative solutions.
Only one winner per category will be selected, and recipients will receive an official ARMA certificate and authority-boosting materials. Annual acknowledgments for Best-in-Class winners are optional.
