Forest Hill, MD (October 30, 2024) – The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) is pleased to share its comprehensive Submission Tip Sheet, an essential resource for roofing professionals, contractors, and related companies preparing entries for the 2025 Excellence in Asphalt Roofing Awards. This guide empowers applicants to present their best work with clarity and impact, emphasizing the quality and innovation that set their projects apart in today’s industry.

As a leading authority in recognizing outstanding steep- and low-slope asphalt roofing projects across North America, ARMA encourages contractors to submit their most impressive projects completed within the past three years by December 1, 2024.

“ARMA’s Submission Tip Sheet has become an indispensable tool for professionals looking to highlight their projects’ unique strengths,” stated Reed Hitchcock, ARMA Executive Vice President. “With a straightforward checklist and helpful tips, this guide equips applicants to capture our judges’ attention and distinguish their work.”

Inside the tip sheet, you’ll find critical frameworks for emphasizing technical excellence, detailing project challenges, showcasing aesthetic brilliance, sharing customer satisfaction, presenting innovative solutions, and describing collaborative efforts.

The guide provides actionable advice on the elements that can strengthen your submission, including:

  1. Crafting Your Project Narrative – Illustrate the complete story of your project, emphasizing the technical challenges overcome, innovative solutions implemented, and positive impact on the community or industry.
  2. Highlighting Tangible Outcomes – Quantify the benefits of your work, such as improved durability, cost efficiency, or sustainability. Showcasing measurable results reinforces the value of your asphalt roofing project.
  3. Emphasizing Visual Excellence – High-quality, high-resolution photos are essential. Before-and-after images can dramatically highlight the transformation and quality of craftsmanship.
  4. Demonstrating Industry Leadership – Detail the unique aspects of your project, such as innovative techniques or technical aspects that set it apart in the industry.
Showing Professionalism Through Transparency – Be honest about challenges, changes made, and lessons learned, demonstrating adaptability and expertise.

Judges will evaluate submissions on four key criteria: “Why Asphalt,” “Project Challenges,” “Distinction,” and “Beauty.” Award winners will receive monetary prizes of $2,000 (Gold), $1,000 (Silver), and $500 (Bronze), as well as certificates, recognition in national and trade media, and promotional opportunities on ARMA’s website and social media.

To apply, visit ARMA’s submission portal before the December 1 deadline.
