ARMA Announces the Winners of the 2007 Accident Prevention Contest

[Washington, DC] (August 8, 2008) – The results of the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association’s annual Accident Prevention Contest were announced at the Board of Directors Meeting in Washington, DC. A total of 107 roofing product manufacturing facilities competed for the various awards.

Each year the contest is open to all members of the association. The 2007 competition was directed by the ARMA Health, Safety and Environment Committee.

ARMA Board Meets to Revise 5-Year Strategic Plan

[Washington, DC] (July 30, 2008) – The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) met in Washington, DC, May 13-15, 2008, to update the organization’s 5-year strategic plan, which will be approved and launched at the next Board Meeting to be held November 5-6, 2008 in Atlanta, GA.  In addition, ARMA introduced a new award which was created to recognize a recently retired employee, Joe Hobson.

ARMA Announces New Residential Manual

[Washington, DC] – The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association [ARMA] has announced the publication and availability of ARMA’s new, revised and updated “ARMA Residential Asphalt Roofing Manual”.

The publication is the first edition of the residential manual since 1997. As such, it has been completely reviewed, revised, and presents a new format for ease of reading. Additionally, there are four new chapters, including information on laminated shingles, new graphs and charts.

Reed B. Hitchcock Named ARMA General Manager

WASHINGTON, DC – The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association [ARMA] announces the appointment of Reed B. Hitchcock, as the new General Manager of the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association. Hitchcock joined ARMA effective July 7, 2003.

Hitchcock has close to 10 years of operations and management experience. He joins ARMA from his affiliation since 1997 with the Federal Bar Association, Washington, DC, a 16,000 member organization representing attorneys and jurists active in the practice of federal law.
