REED B. HITCHCOCK
NAMED ARMA GENERAL MANAGER

WASHINGTON, DC – The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association [ARMA] announces the appointment of Reed B. Hitchcock, as the new General Manager of the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association. Hitchcock joined ARMA effective July 7, 2003.

Hitchcock has close to 10 years of operations and management experience. He joins ARMA from his affiliation since 1997 with the Federal Bar Association, Washington, DC, a 16,000 member organization representing attorneys and jurists active in the practice of federal law.

Hitchcock most recently served as Managing Director for Administration at FBA. Prior to that position, he was involved as FBA director of management information services and earlier as director of organizational services. During his tenure with FBA, he was responsible for the operations, financial administration, and was instrumental in working with FBA members to formulate public policy.

Prior to the Federal Bar Association, Hitchcock served as assistant to the president, Alvensa Corporation, Washington, DC, a manufacturing and international marketing organization.

Hitchcock will be responsible for and the direction of the day-to-day operations and activities of ARMA. In addition, he will serve as staff liaison for the Industry Affairs Committee, and concentrate on key industry initiatives such as shingle performance, high wind, codes and standards, and reflectivity. Hitchcock will also work with the Board of Directors in the implementation of ARMA programs and services, as well as developing new strategic initiatives.

He will report to Russell K. Snyder, ARMA Executive Vice President.
