ARMA RELEASES NEW TECHNICAL BULLETIN "HOW TO SHINGLE A CONE ROOF"

(Calverton, MD) - The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has announced approval and availability of its newest technical bulletin. The new document "How to Shingle a Cone Roof" - was developed by the ARMA Residential Roofing / Research Committee, and approved for publication and release by the ARMA Board of Directors.

The newest technical bulletin is the twenty-sixth (26) bulletin published in the continuing ARMA series of technical subject bulletins. The new bulletin discusses the challenges of roofing cone shaped roofs, and defines and explains the best roofing procedures for cone roofs with flat sides, and for those constructed with round sides.

A series of design / application graphics applicable to the various protocols detailed in the bulletin are shown, and the text provides the specifics recommended for underlayment, ventilation, roofing a flat-sided cone, roofing a round-sided cone, vertical alignment, and horizontal alignment.

The development and approval of the cone roof technical bulletin has been an Association priority for several years. The recommendations contained in the bulletin, as with all ARMA technical bulletins, are for informational purposes only. They are not intended to revoke or change the requirements or specifications of the individual roofing material manufacturers or local, state and/or federal building officials that have jurisdiction in a specific area. Any question, or inquiry, as to the requirements, or specification of a manufacturer, should be directed to the roofing manufacturer concerned.
